Seven Beauty Tips: Makeup, Skin, and Nails

Our Blog prides itself in bringing the latest in hair trends, skin care, and fashion ideas. Looking for new beauty tips can be a bit exhausting. But I've compiled some of the more interesting beauty tips that anyone can use. These range from a fix for clumpy mascara, a cure for tired eyes, and even how to get perfectly cleaned hair without the use of shampoo.

Removing Gel Manicures

Gel manicures are designed to stay on the nail for about three weeks. However, there many reasons why you may want to remove them in a pinch. It is generally recommended that you visit a nail salon if you want to remove your gel manicure, but you can also do this at home. Acetone is the active ingredient in this tutorial. The bad thing is, is that acetone stinks and will require you to soak your nails for an extended period of time. You can speed up the process by using tinfoil. Soak five cotton balls with acetone, and place them on your gel manicures. Go ahead and wrap your fingernails with a layer or two of tinfoil. The heat generated by your body will generate heat, improving the action of the acetone. You will find that it'll take half the time for you to remove your gel manicures.

Cure Puffy Eyes With Green Tea Bags

If you tend to wake up with heavy bags around your eyes, then green tea will be your de-puffing savior. Make a cup of tea with your bags of green tea. Pop the used teabags in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Place these teabags on your swollen eyes for about 10 minutes. The caffeine in the teabags will help remove that puffy look and the antioxidants will protect your eyelids from damaging free radicals. If you want to be proactive, you can pop the teabags in the freezer the night prior.

Talcum Powder for Greasy Roots

If you're in a rush and do not have the time to shampoo your tresses, then you can use talcum powder. Talcum powder will attach itself to the oily areas of your hair, allowing it to be removed when you brush it out with a paddle comb. Sprinkle some talcum powder on your roots and massage it in with your fingers. Wait a couple of minutes to allow the talcum powder to absorb the excess sebum. Go ahead and brush the talcum powder off with your brush. You will find that your hair will not only be clean, but will be a bit more voluminous.

Switch Up Your Hair's Part

One of the more easiest – but understated – ways of revitalizing your hairstyle, is to switch up your natural hair part. If you tend to part your hair in the same way every day, you will find that your hair will be "trained" to be in that shape. Switching your hair part will change the way your hair lies, making your hair look fabulous.

Fix Clumpy Mascara

There's a time and place for clumpy mascara. However, I hate it when the mascara runs out and I come out with unintentionally clumpy lashes. To prevent this, take the habit of not pumping the mascara wand. This will forced air in the tube and will cause the mascara to dry out. If you think that your tube of mascara has ran out, then run hot water along the sides of the tube. This will melt the mascara formula that has been compacted on the walls of the tube, allowing your mascara wand reach it. Out of these beauty tips, I find this method to be a great way of enjoying a couple more applications of mascara.

Heat Up Your Eye Lash Curler

If you want sky-high eyelashes, then heat up your lash curler with a hot blow dryer. The hair on your eyes react the same way as the hair on your scalp. Heat will straighten or curl hair. By warming up the eyelash curler, will find that it will be more effective in curling your lashes.

Use Your Neck To Find Your True Match

They are many ways to find out the perfect match for your foundation. I know some people who will buy many different shades of a new a makeup brand, try them out at home, and then bring back the shades that do not color match. Some of us do not have the luxury - or conscious - of doing this. Try out the foundation shade on your neck. Your neck tends to not be exposed the sun, allowing you to find your unique skin color. You will find that you won't have to be as stringent about blending the foundation from your face to your neck, because the color is now seamless.
