Hair Trends: Dry Shampoo Is On the Rise

Hair trends for Summer

People today are always on the go. There barely seems to be enough time in between work, home and social events to fit everything into 24 hours. A new  hair trend, dry shampoo, will allow you to squeeze a few extra minutes into your days.
Washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner takes up valuable shower time each day. In addition, drying and styling your hair after you have washed it adds even more time to your day. Dry shampooing offers an alternative to the time it takes to shampoo, condition and style your hair every day. Switching to dry shampooing will add extra time into your busy day for all that you need to accomplish.
Dry shampoo is generally either made of powder or aerosol. The dry shampoo formula may either have a starch or silica base. The dry shampoo works by soaking up excess oils in your hair in between shampoos. It will help also help give your hairstyles a longer life.
Dry shampoo is easy to use. You need to spray it six inches from your roots and allow at least two minutes before styling. Two minutes is all the time you need to make sure your hair looks fresh and ready to go. After two minutes has passed, you can restyle your hair, or you can keep rocking that awesome hairdo you already have.
It is recommended that you use dry shampoo a maximum of three times. After that, mix it up with a traditional shampooing. With this new method, you only have to go through the traditional shampoo and styling process one to two times a week and or more in summer heat when needed. Dry shampooing can help simplify your lifestyle. Consider dry shampooing as an alternative to traditional shampoo and styling process and add extra minutes back into your busy day. We love the evo water killer dry shampoo or the evo haze powder

Sunday fun day hair: Buns, buns, buns!

sunday fun day hair

Women love a good Sunday fun day hair style, but mostly they love putting their gorgeous locks up in a bun to enjoy a relaxing day. Here are some stylish buns that you should try for your Sunday fun day of hair!

The first bun you should give a try is a bohemian bun. The key to making this hair style work is to not have every little bit of it perfect. Let some hair strands hang loose and have fun! This type of bun works the best with smooth hair textures.

For all you ladies who have thick hair, a flat bun is something to consider. This type of bun was designed for long, thick hair. If you really want to go exotic for the day and let your creative juices flow then a pillow bun is the perfect bun for you. Here's a quick tip, to make this bun work you need thick hair so try out some extensions.

The side chignon works best for medium and long hair. Now I'm sure we've all done the lazy bun, but truth be told it's a good go to bun for a day of just relaxation. It's quick and easy for when you just don't feel like doing much with your hair.

For you ladies who may like a challenge, the French braid bun is the perfect bun to start your fun day off with. This bun is braided in the back and has a slight twist to it in the front.  There's so many type of buns out there and these are just a small handful of buns that you can try with your hair. Whatever bun you decide to do, have a great Sunday fun day!

Beauty Tips: 5 Makeup Shades for Every Face

We've all seen her: the woman who can get away with wearing any shade of makeup that you would never in a million years get away with. Sure, there may be a lot of colors and textures you may never be able to pull off, but there are also a lot that work for everyone.

So here's your beauty tip for this week: 5 makeup shades that universally flatter.

Bronze Eyes
Bronze works on all skin tones and with every eye color. For brown eyes, bronze will bring out the gold tones. For lighter eyes, bronze will contrast your eye color and make your eyes pop.
But bronze isn't all created equal. Skin tones should also play a role in your selection. So keep in mind how your tone will work with the bronze you choose.
Berry Lips
Not too brash, not too subdued, berry lips can make you look innocent or vampy, depending on the tone. For deeper complexions, berry colored lips can make your lips look soft while enhancing lip color. For fairer skin, berry lips can give the appearance of depth and save you from looking washed out.
Keep in mind, though, the result you get will depend greatly on the product you choose. So it's best to experiment with different brands to get the berry lips of you dreams.

 Rosy Cheeks
Applying rose color to cheeks has been around since the dawn of (wo)man. It's a universal sign of vitality, health, and youth. For fair skin, stick to shades that add emphasis and are one or two shades brighter than your natural tone. For deeper tones, shades of berry and wine-colors do best to flatter.

Navy Mascara
Navy not bright blue (so there's no confusion). Navy is more neutral and works well with a variety of skin tones and complexions. It works on a simple principle: put a blueish hue next to something white and the whites appear whiter and brighter; in this case, the whites of your eyes.
Fearful of the blue? Then choose a blue that is so dark on your skin tone that it will appear mostly black. No one will be the wiser and your eyes will still be bright and beautiful.

Black Eyeshadow
If you don't own black eyeshadow, we insist you go out and buy some ASAP... go ahead, we'll wait. It is indispensable in every makeup collection. No matter your skin tone or age, a matte black eyeshadow will work magic.

How To Preserve Your Salon Blowout For 5 Days Or More

You've just received your salon blowout. Your hair is straight, bouncy, and full of life. One of the advantages of hair blowouts is it can be used if your hair is straight, curly, or wavy. Salon quality blow outs tend to be a better than blowing out your hair at home - and that's because the hair stylist will have a better view of your hair, as well as better technique. Obtaining a perfect blow out tend to be tedious. You can extend the blowout for a couple of days, allowing you to enjoy your straightened locks for a couple of days.
